Wheelchair classification
Walkercloudy divides electric wheelchairs into four basic categories to help you narrow down the range of wheelchair categories that are suitable for you.
1. Standard wheelchair
These chairs weigh between 50-80 pounds, making them an excellent choice when you need a chair that is frequently used and easy to move. The basic wheelchair has a moderate speed and power consumption. If you don't have a particularly high demand for wheelchairs, we recommend this one. These are one of our most popular chairs, many of which come with quick shipping configurations that can be shipped to you on the same day you place your order.
2. Lightweight wheelchair
The lightweight wheelchair weighs approximately 30-60 pounds, can fold quickly, is lightweight, and has a small volume. The ultra light wheelchair is very suitable for advanced users who spend most of their time in a wheelchair and users who pursue excellent performance. These wheelchairs are height adjustable and can perfectly fit your body.
3. Heavy duty wheelchair
The load-bearing range of heavy-duty wheelchairs is 300 pounds to 600 pounds. People weighing over 130 kilograms are recommended to choose a heavy-duty electric wheelchair, which has a reinforced frame and wider seating area. These types of wheels and casters will also tend to be wider to support the chair while the user is inside. The weight of most heavy-duty electric wheelchairs is 200 kilograms.
4. Specialized wheelchair
A manual wheelchair with a reclining backrest and adjustable leg rests.
Sports wheelchair: from track to court - suitable for all sports and entertainment wheelchairs.
Shower and toilet chairs: equipped with push in shower chairs to enhance bathroom safety.
Beach wheelchair: capable of handling beaches and waves.
